California voters have a unique opportunity to slow the MAGA assault on our democracy but we only have until November 4! Ballots arrive in mailboxes October 6.
California’s PROP 50 is a ballot initiative to counter the Texas redistricting power grab. Texas Gov Abbott, at Donald Trump’s bidding, has already signed new redistricting laws that will likely add five more House seats to the GOP. This is a federal campaign by MAGA Republicans to snatch up House seats and is rolling out in other states including Missouri, Florida, and Indiana.
Prop 50, the Election Rigging Response Act, can level the playing field in response to MAGA actions. But unlike Texas, Californians have an opportunity to vote on the measure, and even more important, Prop 50 is temporary. It reverts back to California’s independent Citizen’s Redistricting Commission in 2030.
We need your YES vote on Prop 50 and just as important, your help in educating and encouraging other Californians to do the same.
